First Forty Days
A maternity sitting and a newborn session eight weeks apart, shot as one continuing story.

The brief was to photograph the same family twice — once at thirty-four weeks and once in the first fortnight after the birth — and have the two sets look like one body of work rather than two unrelated bookings.
We wrote the lighting down after the maternity sitting and rebuilt it exactly for the newborn session: same key height, same warmth, same two fabrics. Only the subject changed.
The newborn half ran across four hours with three feeding breaks. Roughly ninety minutes of that was waiting, which is the part of a newborn session nobody budgets for and everybody needs.
What it added up to
- Two sessions matched to one written light spec
- 108 images across both sittings
- Printed keepsake box delivered with the gallery
